JOY OF INCLUSION MESSAGE: QUADPARA ASSOCIATION SOUTH AFRICA (QASA)

An inclusive, diverse society is stronger as people of all backgrounds can provide insights from their unique life experience to create a better world. Inclusivity leads to better tolerance, empathy and creative solutions. The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) is passionate about inclusion as it offers marginalised communities the opportunity to speak up and speak out on diversity.

As a NPO for people with disabilities, specifically quadriplegics and paraplegics, QASA is deeply invested in the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace, and broader society. At any point in their life, people can sustain an injury or experience an illness that leaves them with a disability.

Inclusion is not only about accommodating people with disabilities today, but building a future that wouldn’t exclude you because of your abilities. For most people in the disability community, it is not their abilities, but society and a lack of access that leads to isolation and marginalisation – leaves them disabled.

Fortunately, and contrary to popular belief, inclusion can be a simple as offering solutions to accessibility, providing better representation and supporting the rights of marginalised groups.
